How the cost is calculated
The total is the sum of four cost factors, each itemised in the summary:
• Filament: grams used × spool price per gram, plus your markup per material.
• Energy: print hours × printer wattage × your electricity price per kWh.
• Machine: printer cost spread over its payback period, plus a repair allowance.
• Labour: prep, slicing and post-processing time at your hourly rate.
Common questions
Do I need an account?
No — calculating and exporting a PDF are free without one. A free account lets you save calculations and reopen them later.
Which costs should I include when pricing a print?
Material and electricity are the obvious ones, but machine wear and your own time usually matter more. Include all four to avoid quoting at a loss.
Can I use my own currency and rates?
Yes. Pick your currency, set your local electricity price and hourly rate, and every line item uses them.
